The system in detail

The inverter

The GoodWe ESA GW12K-ETA-G20 is a three-phase hybrid inverter with a rated output of 12 kW. It features four MPP trackers and accepts a maximum PV input power of 24 kW, allowing for generous DC oversizing. With a maximum efficiency of 98.1%, it operates highly efficiently. The integrated bypass function with 63 A pass-through current supports a whole-home backup solution. Communication is via RS485, Wi-Fi, LAN, and Bluetooth.

The battery storage

Four GoodWe ESA GW5.1-BAT-D-G20 battery modules form the storage of the system. Each module, based on proven lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology, delivers 5.12 kWh of rated energy, totaling 20.48 kWh. The modules are rated by the manufacturer for a cycle life of at least 8,000 cycles and are equipped with heating as well as aerosol fire suppression. The ESA series is scalable up to 12 modules, allowing the storage to be expanded later.
