Description

The Growatt SPH 4000TL3 BH-UP is a three-phase hybrid inverter with 4,000 W rated power that combines solar generation, battery storage, and backup power supply in a single device. It is the ideal entry-level size in the SPH-TL3-BH-UP series for smaller roof systems that still require three-phase operation and storage capability.

Your Benefits at a Glance

High PV utilization: With a DC/AC ratio of 1.5, you can connect up to 6,000 W of PV module power, achieving higher yields even in low light conditions.
Backup power in 10 milliseconds: The integrated UPS function switches over so fast during a grid outage that connected loads on the EPS output keep running.
Asymmetric feed-in: The inverter can distribute its output 100% across individual phases and limit feed-in precisely per phase.
Flexible battery connection: The wide battery voltage range of 100 to 550 V allows storage sizes from 7.68 to 76.8 kWh.
VPP interface: Via RS485, the system can be integrated into virtual power plants and controlled externally.

Performance That Pays Off in Everyday Use

Two independent MPP trackers, each with 13.5 A input current, reliably capture energy even from differently oriented roof areas. A maximum efficiency of 97.6% and a European efficiency of 97.0% ensure that only a small portion of the generated energy is lost during conversion. The battery's charge and discharge efficiency is 97.4%.

Using the operating modes "Load First," "Battery First," and "Grid First," you control when the battery is charged and discharged – either directly on the LCD display or conveniently via the Growatt monitoring portal. The export limit function restricts grid feed-in either overall or per phase.

The transformerless design operates completely fanless with natural convection; typical noise emission is 35 dB(A). Thanks to IP65 protection and an operating temperature range of −25 °C to +60 °C, outdoor installation is also possible. An integrated DC switch, Type II surge protection on both the DC and AC sides, reverse polarity protection, insulation monitoring, and residual current monitoring are all standard features. Installation must only be carried out by qualified professionals.
