Description

The GoodWe GW8000-ET-20 is a three-phase hybrid inverter from the ET G2 series with 8 kW rated power. It combines your PV system, a high-voltage battery storage, and your home network in a single device – including full backup power supply and an integrated smart meter.

Increase Self-Consumption, Reduce Grid Draw

The GW8000-ET-20 automatically coordinates generation, storage, and consumption. The included current transformer (CT) and integrated smart meter measure the energy flow at the grid connection point, so surplus power is prioritized for charging the battery instead of being fed into the grid unused. Via the DRED/RCR port, the device meets German requirements for ripple control receivers and controllability under § 14a EnWG.

The battery charges with up to 12,000 W and discharges with up to 8,800 W, each at 30 A continuous current. From the utility grid, the inverter can briefly draw up to 16,000 VA – useful when fast recharging is needed in winter.

Installation and Safety

Weighing 23 kg and rated IP66, the device is suitable for wall mounting indoors and outdoors at temperatures from −35 °C to +60 °C. Cooling is fanless via natural convection, with noise emission below 30 dB. DC switch, insulation resistance monitoring, residual current monitoring, reverse polarity protection on both the PV and battery sides, and Type II surge protection on the AC and DC sides are already integrated. Connection to the GoodWe SEMS portal is made via the included Smart Dongle over Wi-Fi, LAN, or Bluetooth.
