The GoodWe GW8KN-ET Plus (16A series) is a three-phase hybrid inverter with 8 kW rated power designed for homes with high power demand. It combines the PV system, high-voltage battery storage, and household grid in a single device – and keeps your loads running during a grid outage via the backup output. The matching smart meter is already included in the scope of delivery.

Intelligent Control for Maximum Self-Consumption

The GW8KN-ET Plus was developed for households that don't just want to store their solar power but use it strategically. Via the integrated load control and the potential-free contact (dry contact), external loads such as a heat pump can be switched on based on time or condition as soon as surplus power is available. The peak shaving function additionally limits power peaks from the grid, relieving your grid connection. In combination with the included smart meter, the inverter measures household consumption per phase and automatically manages feed-in, battery charging, and self-consumption.

Safety, Communication, and Commissioning

On the DC side, a disconnect switch and a Type II surge arrester are already integrated; on the AC side, a Type III arrester is included. Insulation resistance measurement, residual current monitoring, reverse polarity protection, anti-islanding protection, and a remote shutdown function are on board from the factory. Setup is conveniently done via the SolarGo app; system monitoring runs through the SEMS portal. WiFi is included as standard, with WiFi+LAN and 4G available as options. Battery communication is via CAN by default, with RS485 as an alternative. The device is also "battery ready": you can initially operate it as grid-tied only and retrofit the storage later. Please note that the backup function may only be used with a battery connected.
