Description

The GoodWe GW29.9K-ET is a three-phase hybrid inverter with 29.9 kW rated power from the ET series, designed for large residential buildings as well as smaller commercial properties with high-output PV roofs. The device combines PV generation, high-voltage battery storage, and grid connection in one system – the matching GM3000 smartmeter including current transformers is included in the scope of delivery.

Key Benefits for Your System

High PV design capacity: Up to 45,000 W input power and three MPP trackers with two strings each allow flexible configuration even for angled or multi-orientation roofs.
Reliable backup power: In the event of a grid outage, the inverter switches to backup power mode in under 10 ms and delivers 29.9 kVA, briefly up to 36,000 VA for 60 seconds.
Two battery inputs: With 2 x 50 A charge and discharge current and a voltage range of 200 to 800 V, high-performance HV storage systems such as the GoodWe Lynx Home F can be connected.
Weatherproof and low-maintenance: IP66 protection rating and intelligent fan cooling allow wall mounting outdoors at -35 to +60 °C.

Cap Load Peaks, Increase Self-Consumption

The GW29.9K-ET was developed for properties where a lot of solar power is generated while a lot of energy is consumed at the same time. Through peak shaving, the inverter limits load peaks by covering high consumption spikes from the battery storage instead of from the grid. This relieves the grid connection and reduces ongoing costs under demand-based tariffs. In addition, the integrated load management enables the targeted integration of further consumers – from heat pumps to wallboxes.

The included GM3000 smartmeter measures voltage, current, power, and frequency at the grid connection point and transmits these values to the inverter via RS485. This allows the system to precisely regulate feed-in and grid draw based on actual consumption. The three current transformers with a ratio of 120 A : 40 mA are already included. A smart dongle is also included, which is used to integrate the system into the GoodWe portal and monitor it via app.

On the safety side, the inverter comes with integrated protection functions: string current monitoring, insulation resistance and residual current detection, reverse polarity protection on both the PV and battery side, anti-islanding protection, and an integrated DC switch. Type II (DC) and Type III (AC) surge protection devices are installed at the factory, and AFCI arc-fault protection is available as an option. With a maximum efficiency of 98.0% and 99.9% MPPT efficiency, the device operates at the level of current high-performance hybrid inverters.
