The system components in detail

The Inverter

The Deye SUN-8K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is a three-phase hybrid inverter with 8 kW rated power and a maximum efficiency of 97.6%. It intelligently controls the energy flow between the solar system, battery storage, home network, and public grid. Up to 12,800 W of solar power can be connected via two MPP trackers. Thanks to AC coupling, an existing PV system can also be easily expanded with storage and backup power functionality. Six freely adjustable charge and discharge time windows, as well as Wi-Fi, RS485, and CAN interfaces, allow full control conveniently via app. With IP65 protection, outdoor installation is also easily possible.

The Battery Storage

The Felicity LUX-Y-48280LG01 is a floor-standing LiFePO4 battery storage unit with 14.3 kWh usable capacity and 51.2 V nominal voltage. The robust lithium iron phosphate chemistry enables over 6,000 charge cycles at high depth of discharge – equivalent to more than 16 years of daily use. An integrated intelligent battery management system (BMS) reliably protects against overcharging, deep discharge, and overheating. For maximum safety, a built-in aerosol fire suppression system also directly extinguishes a fire inside the battery storage in an emergency. Commissioning is straightforward via CAN or RS485 communication – precisely matched to the Deye inverter.
