Productinformation in detail
Introduction
The K2 S-Dome flat roof mounting set with a 15° inclination offers a reliable and compact solution for mounting photovoltaic modules on flat roofs. The fixed 15° inclination allows for an optimal angle of sunlight incidence, which can enhance yield. At the same time, the weight is evenly distributed to preserve the roof's structural integrity.
This set is designed for 4 modules and includes high-quality components from K2 Systems, made from corrosion-resistant aluminum and stainless steel. The pre-assembled elements minimize installation time while ensuring a stable connection and high wind and snow load reserves.
This solution is particularly attractive for flat roofs with limited load reserves or low inclination angles, as it combines easy installation with solid system technology. The components are compatible with the proven K2 Dome / S-Dome portfolio. (Note: Please check the local structural capacity and wind/snow load values on-site.)
The 15° angle is well-suited to support good self-cleaning of the modules (rain runoff) while improving efficiency at medium sun positions. Additionally, such mounting is often permissible even with stricter roof edge and height regulations.
The following datasheet describes all components, their function, and technical characteristics—ideal for integration into offer documents or project planning.
Technical Specifications
- Inclination angle: 15°
- Designed for 4 solar modules
- Materials: Aluminum (alloyed) and stainless steel
- Corrosion protection: anodized or coated surfaces
- Permissible clamping range for module frame height: 30 – 50 mm (EC / MC variants)*
- Wind and snow load capacity dependent on project location and statics
- Pre-assembled components for time-saving installation
Installation & Mounting Instructions
For correct and safe installation, please observe the following instructions:
- Before installation, a static recalculation according to local wind and snow loads should be provided.
- The roof surface must be level and load-bearing (e.g., concrete, gravel layer, flat roof membrane).
- The components are designed so that a large part is pre-assembled, saving installation time—hinge mechanisms and click connections support this.
- For buildings with greater height or stronger wind loads, anchored fixings (e.g., FixPro solutions) should be considered.
- The SpeedPorter is used for ballasting—they distribute the weight evenly on the base rail, reducing point loads on the roof membrane.
- The modules are fastened with MC and EC clamps, maintaining a defined clamping pressure to avoid damage to the module frame.
- A potential equalization (grounding) must be carried out according to standards (e.g., connecting all metal parts via conductive connections).
- After completion, a visual inspection of all connections and clamps should be conducted, and documentation of the installation should be maintained.
